The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley has told of her panic after her daughter was locked on a train during a bomb scare.

The 44-year-old reality TV personality posted on Instagram on Tuesday (04.11.25) evening, saying her daughter, Gabriella, 22, was trapped on a train that saw Stockport station evacuated and nearby homes cleared.

As police responded to a report of a suspicious suitcase near the station in Greater Manchester, emergency services imposed a 200-metre cordon and called in bomb disposal experts as a precaution.

Tanya wrote on social media: “Does anyone know what’s happening at Stockport train station? My daughter and all the passengers are locked on the train by police… I’m going out of my mind.”

Greater Manchester Police confirmed a cordon was established while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit investigated the incident on Greek Street.

Fire and rescue services also attended the scene.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said in a statement: “Just before 6pm this evening (November 4) firefighters were called to reports of a suspicious item on Greek Street in Stockport.

“Two fire engines from Stockport and Whitehill fire stations, as well as the technical rescue unit from Ashton fire station, are currently at the scene where a suitcase has been left on the footbridge by Stockport railway station.”

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic as police evacuated the area, including Stockport bus interchange.

One bystander told Manchester Evening News: “I was told I had to evacuate Stockport bus interchange and it was chaos with people running. I was told I had to leave immediately. There was approximately 50 of us running out of the interchange, followed by the police. There was lots of panic and hurry.”

Other people sought refuge in nearby pubs and army barracks while trains were halted and passengers stranded on board. Another witness said their train had stopped near Cheadle after being told of a “suspicious item” close to Stockport.

An Avanti West Coast spokesperson confirmed the evacuation, saying customers were advised not to travel to the station until further notice.

The incident follows a difficult year for Tanya, whose £2 million home was targeted by masked intruders in May while her family slept.

Her husband, football manager Phil Beardsley, was seen in video footage posted online speaking with police after their security system alerted them to the break-in.

Tanya has been a cast member of The Real Housewives of Cheshire since its debut in 2015, having first gained public attention as a footballer’s wife before joining the ITV2 reality show.
