Home and Away actor Luke Jacobz has welcomed his second child with wife Raychel.
Sharing their joy after what he described as a long and emotional fertility journey, the 44-year-old, best known for playing Angelo Rosetta in the Australian soap opera, announced the birth of their son on Instagram, revealing the baby was conceived naturally following years of IVF treatments.
Luke and 37-year-old Raychel, who already share a daughter, Maisie, said their newborn had been given a name steeped in family tradition.
Posting a series of photographs of the baby, Luke wrote online: “On Monday, our little family of three grew a little bigger and we are all so in love already. Welcome my baby boy John James Scott.”
He added: “We named him after my Dad, Raychel’s Dad and uncle. Named after the men who helped shape both our lives so their legacy can live on.”
The actor also paid tribute to his wife in the post, writing: “Raychel, your bravery, love, true grit and determination to give our Maisie a best friend for life is nothing short of incredible.
“I saw such strength in you that I never thought possible, I love you with my heart and my soul and promise to teach our boy to be kind, caring, protective and loving. He will carry the legacy of the great men he is named after.”
Addressing his newborn directly, Luke said: “Little Johnny, JJ… I am so proud to be your Dad, you and I will have the most wonderful adventure together, we are going to love and support your mum and sister, because I know they love you so much already. I love you Raychel, thank you for giving me the honour to be your babies’ Dad.”
Fans and friends quickly flooded the comments with congratulations.
Fellow Home and Away actor Todd Lasance posted online: “Amazing news, mate. Congratulations, guys. Incredible.”
Luke and Raychel met in 2017 and began trying for a baby the following year.
They turned to IVF after struggling to conceive and later revealed they experienced three early miscarriages before they had their first child, Maisie, in 2023.
Reflecting on their first pregnancy, Luke told followers: “We weren’t expecting that, so we just lost our minds. We were so close to not trying anymore because it was just so hard.”
Luke first rose to fame in the late 1990s on Australian teen drama Heartbreak High before joining Home and Away.
He later won Dancing With The Stars in 2008 and went on to host The X Factor Australia.
