Jason Donovan has filmed a cameo in Emmerdale.

The legendary Neighbours actor and pop icon recently headed to the Leeds-based set to shoot a guest appearance in the ITV soap.

During filming, Jason performed his hit Too Many Broken Hearts to a packed-out Woolpack as a surprise for Lydia Dingle, who is played by Karen Blick.

He said: "I’m incredibly excited to have been asked to make a cameo appearance in Emmerdale as myself.

"Filming was great fun and all of the cast and crew were extremely welcoming. Singing in the Woolpack set was definitely an experience I won't forget."

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw added: "We were delighted that Jason agreed to join us for this episode.

"Not only is Lydia Dingle a big fan of his, there was a real buzz on set that day.

"I hope the viewers enjoy his cameo as much as the Emmerdale family did."

Jason gave fans further details on his cameo on Wednesday morning (05.11.25), admitting he loved working alongside the "incredible" cast.

Speaking on Lorraine, he said: "I'm going in as myself, don't tell anyone.

"I was asked to do something around Christmas.

"I filmed it a few months back. The cast were incredible, the production team were amazing."

As well as Karen, Jason shot scenes alongside Tony Audenshaw, who plays Bob Hope in the soap.

Jason is no stranger to soaps, and is best known for playing Neighbours' Scott Robinson for more than 400 episodes between 1986 and 1989.

He reprised his role alongside Kylie Minogue, as Charlene Robinson, for the show's final episode on Channel 5 in 2022, only for the soap to be picked up and renewed by Amazon Freevee just months later.

Neighbours returned in September 2023, but the series was axed again this February.

Production finished in July, and the last-ever episode of the long-running Australian soap is due to air on December 11th.
