The Great British Bake Off winner revealed
The Great British Bake Off judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith picked five-time Star Baker Jasmine Mitchell as the series winner on Tuesday night (04.11.25).
Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith chose Jasmine Mitchell as this year's The Great British Bake Off winner.
The 23-year-old medic saw off strong competition from Tom Arden and Aaron Mountford-Myles in Tuesday night's (04.11.25) finale, but judge Paul admitted Jasmine was the best winner "for quite a while" on the Channel 4 show.
He said: "She has done an incredible job all the way through the Bake Off this year.
"She is a worthy winner and she is the best one we have seen for quite a while actually."
Jasmine is the first contestant in the show's history to win five Star Baker awards, and go on to clinch victory in the finale.
In the semi-final, Jasmine equalled Richard Burr's record for the most Star Baker titles in Bake Off history, after he won five during 2014's fifth series.
But he went on to taste defeat in the finale to Nancy Birtwhistle.
However, Jasmine maintained her strong form all the way to the end, after impressing in the finale's Signature and Showstopper challenges.
In the Showstopper, the bakers were tasked with making a 1.2 metre cake - the biggest cake ever made on the show.
Following her victory, Jasmine said: "Oh my goodness I am just so overjoyed! When I was in the middle of exams and trying to bake while I was trying to learn, it’s been so much.
"But I have done it, and I am just so unbelievably happy to have done it with such an awesome group of people."
Jasmine also told how she has been keeping the trophy at the bottom of her pyjama drawer to ensure it remained a secret before the pre-recorded episode aired on Tuesday night.
She said: "The trophy has been in the bottom of my pyjama drawer hidden at the back amongst the sports clothes.
"I will probably use it straight away and christen it by making a cake!"
