Clare Balding has been banished from the castle on The Celebrity Traitors.

The 54-year-old sports broadcaster has become the latest celebrity to be banished from the castle, after seven votes from her fellow contestants.

Traitor Jonathan Ross narrowly avoided getting exposed during the latest episode and he subsequently confessed to feeling fortunate.

The TV star said: "How am I still here?

"I mean, I have got to be the luckiest traitor in the history of the game. Without even having to work at it, the faithfuls did our dirty work for us!"

Clare's banishment was met with bewilderment from some of the other celebrities. And Jonathan expects the situation to become more feisty from now onwards.

He said: "Everyone’s coming out tomorrow with their claws out and everyone’s going to be scratching away at each other, to see if under the otherwise faithful skin there lurks a black-hearted traitor."

Meanwhile, Tameka Empson was banished from the castle earlier this week, and the soap star subsequently admitted to feeling "emotional" about her early exit.

Speaking on spin-off show The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, Tameka said: "I think Claudia (Winkleman) saw the faithfulness in me.

"And now I think about it, being a Traitor is a headache.

"It's a lot of game playing, and you're going to be up later than anybody else.

"I think it was right for me to be a Faithful, and I really wanted to be a great Faithful.

"I had plans to lead the Faithfuls to victory, but that was cut short."

Tameka was disappointed to leave the BBC show so early. However, she still thoroughly enjoyed her time in the Scottish castle - with the food a particular highlight.

The 48-year-old actress said: "I had a really great time. Scotland is beautiful and the castle is amazing.

"Oh my God, it was incredible. And, you know, we're travelling in style in that iconic convoy of cars which I adored. I couldn't get anybody to give me a key and I'm a very good driver.

"Anyway, that feeling as you drive up to the castle. It's amazing when you watch it on TV, but in real life, it takes your breath away actually being there."
