'Both of them pressed flick knives into my stomach...' Chris McCausland recalls horror mugging ordeal
In his new autobiography, Keep Laughing, comedian Chris McCausland recalled the time when he was allegedly mugged by two knife-wielding thugs during a night out with his friend in Liverpool as a teenager.

Chris McCausland was allegedly mugged at knifepoint by two thugs who wanted his money.
The 48-year-old comedian - who is blind - recalled in his new autobiography, Keep Laughing, how his night out with a pal in Liverpool as a teenager turned into a nightmare by the men, who Chris claims "pressed" the "flick" blades into his stomach.
Chris wrote: "Both of them pressed flick knives into my stomach as a threat that didn't really need much in the way of explanation.
"'Money,' one of the under-achieving b******* said. 'OK, OK,' I said, and then, in a stroke of spontaneous genius, surprising bravery or complete idiocy, I tried to fob them off with just loose change I had in my pocket.
"'Nice try. We just followed you from the cash machine,' one of them said, as they pressed the knives a little harder. S***.
"I needed to come up with something quick as I didn't want them thinking I was taking the p***.
"'I know, I know,' I said back. 'I, err, I was getting to that. I just wanted to make sure that you got everything.'
"I pulled out the two folded notes from that little ticket pocket in my jeans and handed them over."
After a lady yelled that Chris was allegedly getting mugged, the "pathetic scumbags" fled towards the "back streets" of the North West England city with £30 "between them".
The Strictly Come Dancing 2024 winner continued: "'Hey!' shouted a lady from behind. 'That lad's getting mugged!'
"And with that, the two pathetic scumbags ran off down towards the back streets of Liverpool with a whole thirty quid between them. Saddos."
Chris was born with the hereditary eye condition retinitis pigmentosa (RP) - which causes cells in the retina to break down slowly over time, eventually causing vision loss.
His eyesight deteriorated quickly in his early 20s, and he lost his vision completely at the age of 22.
At the time of the alleged mugging, Chris did not tell anyone because he thought his parents might become overprotective.
The star also wrote in his book: "I know being mugged at knifepoint had nothing to do with my poor eyesight, but I think my concern was that telling my parents might change things."
