Dancing on Ice pro Molly Lanaghan wanted to skate with reality star on 2025 series
'Dancing on Ice' professional skater Molly Lanaghan has revealed she wanted to be partnered with a much-loved star on the 2025 series.

'Dancing on Ice' pro Molly Lanaghan wanted to skate with Sam Thompson on this year's series.
The 26-year-old ice queen - who lifted the trophy with her celebrity partner, 'Coronation Street' star Sam Aston - admitted she had this "gut feeling" about being paired up with the former 32-year-old 'Made in Chelsea' cast member, but as it did not happen, Molly is hoping to take her dream showbiz partner around the skating rink in a future series of the ITV programme.
She told TV presenter Hayley Palmer in front of a packed audience during a live recording of her Saturday night show, 'Saturday Night with Hayley Palmer', at The Hippodrome Casino London, attended by BANG Showbiz: "This is genuinely someone who I thought might be my partner this year – I just had a gut feeling, it wasn’t him, I would love to skate with Sam Thompson.
"I think he would be so fun on the ice, he’s got such a fun energy."
Molly - who has represented Team Great Britain and Team Canada internationally on the ice - had "three or four" meltdowns during the filming of episode three.
She could not hack her monkey costume and makeup for their Disney's 'The Jungle Book'-inspired skate - which took her and the 31-year-old actor to the top of the leaderboard - for Movie Night.
Molly admitted: "Now when I look back, it’s funny, but in the moment, I had like three or four meltdowns on episode three.
"They dressed me as a monkey because we skated to 'The Jungle Book', and I couldn’t hack the hair, the makeup, the costume – it was all too much.
"Everyone was like, ‘Molly, you will be fine', and in the moment, I was freaking out."
Molly has been skating since she was seven, and she said appearing on the show was the first time in her career that she has not felt nervous.
She explained: "This was the first time ever in skating that I’ve never got nervous because I was so focused on Sam, [and] making sure he had a good time.
"He was my main focus.
"I kept joking, I said he was like my baby. Every time he went out, I was like a proud mum. Every time he did something good, I was like, ‘You’re doing so good, Sam!’"
Hayley's show will be aired in a couple of weeks' time on 'Saturday Night with Hayley Palmer' on Freeview Channelbox 271.
