The reality TV star - who launched 'Vanderpump Rules' back in 2013 - has admitted that her management style has changed since she began appearing on-screen alongside her staff at her Hollywood restaurant.

Lisa told PEOPLE: "When you spend time with people like you do on a reality show in that close proximity, you see their vulnerability often comes out before the cameras, and their emotional challenges.

"I always feel that I am the matriarchal figure in the best sense of the way, where I try to listen and understand."

The 63-year-old TV star - who has Pandora, 38, and Max, 32, with her husband Ken Todd - tries to give her employees the same advice that she would give to her own children.

She added: “But sometimes they're really f****** annoying and I do kick them in the a**.

"I mean, that's life, isn't it? It's like, if they get it wrong the first time, okay, let's talk about this. I'm going to show you once. But fool me once, not twice."

Lisa has previously admitted that she "didn't know" what to expect when she became a grandmother because "she loved her kids so much" to begin with and she didn't know how to feel when her eldest was expecting her first baby.

Speaking on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show', Lisa said: "He's two years and two months and it is the best thing that ever happened to me. He is just everything.

"I get so emotional talking about it because I loved my children so much and I didn't know how it was going to be. And then, he was here and I just cannot believe it didn't happen sooner because it's the best thing."
