Lizzo was 'scared' to see her South Park spoof
Lizzo has reacted after her name was used for a fake weight loss product in 'South Park'.
Lizzo was "so scared" to see herself referenced in 'South Park'.
The 36-year-old pop star is mentioned in the iconic and controversial animated show's latest special 'South Park: The End of Obesity', with her name used as a fictional alternative to Ozempic, which is actually a type 2 diabetes drug.
In a TikTok video showing her genuine reactions, she admitted: "I'm so scared."
In the episode, Sharon and Sheila - the mother's of main characters Stan and Kyle - was discussing weight loss methods, with the latter wondering how her friend can manage her weight without the drug.
Sharon replied: "Don’t you know, Sheila? Now, there’s a whole new obesity drug for those of us who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro.
"I controlled all my cravings to be thinner with Lizzo."
A spoof of an overly positive commercial started playing, with a narrator claiming the fake diet suppressor "makes you feel good about your weight".
Sharon added: "I’ve lowered my standards and my expectations."
Lizzo appeared shocked as she watched the footage with her hand over her mouth, including the narrator in the fake commercial claiming the medication let users eat whatever they wanted with minimal exercise, adding: "70 percent of patients on Lizzo no longer care how much they way."
At the end of the video, the real Lizzo said took the episode as a badge of honour and a sign that she had encouraged people to "love" themselves no matter what.
She said: "That's crazy. I just feel like, damn, I'm really that b****.
"I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f***, to the point where these men in Colorado [South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone] know who the f*** I am, and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.
“And I’m gonna keep on showing you how to not give a f***."
