Katherine Ryan only "shagged" her now-husband "for a laugh".
The 40-year-old comic reconnected with her teenage boyfriend Bobby Kootstra in 2019 when she was filming 'Who Do You Think You Are?' and while she insisted she would never have a one-night stand because she "fancied" the guy in question, she was happy to jump into bed with them just "for a joke".
She told Sunday Times Style magazine: “I shagged him for a laugh. I wouldn’t normally have a one-night stand just because I fancy someone, but for a joke? For a joke I would! Nine months to the day, we were married.”
Katherine - who has 14-year-old Violet from a previous marriage and Fred, two, and Fenna, 12 months, with Bobby - admitted she and her husband have sex "exactly twice a month" and she "logs" all their encounters.
Asked if she's a minx in her marriage, she said: “No, but I should be. We have sex exactly twice a month. I log it just in case I do get pregnant."
Before embarking on her comedy career, Katherine worked as a waitress in Hooters and the Canadian star "loved" her work at the chain, which is known for its scantily clad seving stadd.
She said: "I had gone into it trying to be beautiful, a cheerleader, a cool girl.
“But I found this matriarchy of like-minded almost misfits that worked there. They weren’t the most beautiful girls in the world, but they were a lot like me, were brave and they were chatty and they were impervious to criticism."
