Kangana Ranaut has hailed Shah Rukh Khan as the "cinematic hero India needs".
The 'Chandramukhi 2' actress has heaped praise on the Bollywood legend in recognition of his latest movie 'Jawan' and celebrated the "superheroic" way the 57-year-old star has been able to keep working over the years.
She wrote on Instagram: "From being the ultimate lover boy of the nineties to a decade-long struggle again to reinvent his connection with his audience to his late forties to mid-fifties and ultimately rising as the quintessential Indian mass superhero at the age of 60 (almost) Is nothing short of superheroic even in real life.
“I remember the time when people wrote him off and mocked his choices but his struggle is a master class for all artists enjoying long careers but must reinvent and reestablish. SRK is the cinema God that India needs not just for his hugs or dimples but for some serious world saving as well. Bowing down to your perseverance, hard work and humility King Khan. @iamsrk.(sic)"
She then praised the others who had worked on the film.
She added: "Congratulations to the whole team."
It was recently revealed a gory scene had to be cut from 'Jawan' to satisfy film regulators.
The Atlee-directed movie had a number of changes made in order to get the film a U/A certificate by India's Central Board of Film Certification which allows kids under the age of 12 to watch with adult supervision - and one scene that ended up on the cutting room floor was a gruesome depiction of a beheading.
The scene was one of seven the filmmakers had to change in order to get the more lenient age rating. Another change included editing out "visuals of suicide" and changing a reference to the Honourable President of India.
