The 33-year-old actress split from fiancé Scott Sinclair last year and is now looking for new ways to bring in money, including the possibility of setting up an account on the adults-only subscription platform.
Speaking to Closer magazine, a source said: “As well as acting, Helen has also been considering alternative ways to earn income.
“She was offended when she first heard someone mention OnlyFans but now she sees that it gets a lot of high-profile celebrities using it as well.
“She wants to try new things after splitting from Scott.”
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star – who has three children with her former partner – is “at a crossroads” with her career because she’s concerned OnlyFans could harm her chances of landing more acting work, but it also appeals because of the level of control it would offer her.
Helen - who has been competing on reality TV series 'I'm a Celebrity... South Africa' - shot to fame playing Rosie Webster on 'Corrie' from 2000 to 2012 and returned to the role in 2017 before departing the cobbles again in 2018.
The source added: “She wants to take control of her life and feel sexy, which is why she loves doing risqué shoots.
“She knows that it could affect her chances of going back to serious acting, but she’s at a crossroads in her career.
"Acting is tough because you’re never fully in control of where you’re headed, whereas with her modelling and her lingerie line, Helen is her own boss.
“She feels that the sexier her shoots get, the higher her sales are, so it’s a win win.”
