Katy Perry got booed after serving up some bizarre criticism to 'American Idol' contestant Nutsa Buzaladze.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' hitmaker took fault with the 25-year-old pop diva-in-the-making for donning glitter head-to-toe despite nailing her vocal performance, according to the other judges, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

Nutsa wowed with her powerhouse vocals on her rendition of Grace Potter and the Nocturnals' 'Paris (Ooh La La)' on Monday night's (17.04.23) episode of the TV talent show, which was filmed at Disney's Aulani resort in Hawaii.

Lionel reacted: "That was just so wonderful to watch."

However, Katy - who is known for her outrageous stage costumes at her own live shows - said: "Nutsa, every time you take the stage, it's like you glitter bomb the stage.

"Listen, I think one thing I personally would like to see from you is not one piece of glitter the next time. I know that's gonna be hard."

The comment didn't go down well with the live audience, as the room erupted with boos.

Lionel said: "Whoa, hostility!"

And Luke laughed: "Yes! Katy got booed. Katy got booed."

Guest coach Noah Cyrus had earlier said she would like to see Nutsa focus more on her vocals.

She said: "She's got this diva energy. Her movement, her dancing — I think that's her vibe.

"But I thought it would be cool to watch her be a singer and then tell a story."
