Odessa A'Zion has no desire to play a "girl-next-door type".

The 25-year-old actress has admitted that she actually prefers to play eccentric, unconventional characters, and can't imagine doing anything else.

Speaking to E! News, Odessa shared: "I don't think I'm good at playing a girl-next-door type. I think it would be bad.

"It would be me being like, 'Hey,' I can't even. It would be so bad."

Odessa has received widespread praise for her role as Rachel Mizler in Marty Supreme, the hit Josh Safdie film, in which she starred opposite Timothée Chalamet.

The actress has previously made clear that she wants to continue taking on similarly wild and unpredictable roles in the future.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Odessa explained: "It's really hard after doing Marty Supreme to think about what I would do next because that was my ultimate goal.

"I guess I just hope to keep playing insane women. I hope I'm never the straight man. I just want the juicy, f*****-up roles. I will play whatever insane character somebody wants me to play."

Odessa relished the opportunity to play such an erratic character in Marty Supreme, which also features the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin O'Leary, Tyler Okonma and Abel Ferrara.

The actress knew that her on-screen character would capture the imagination of film fans, regardless of who was playing her.

She said: "It was so juicy and meaty, and I got to do everything: I was kidnapped, I was shot, I was a beggar, I was a really strong, independent woman going through an emotional roller coaster.

"I knew people would respond to that character no matter who played her."

Odessa has also admitted that she's still adjusting to her newfound fame following the film's success.

She shared: "The first time we did a Q and A after a screening, I was sweating and shaking."

Meanwhile, Odessa also opened up about Better Things, her mother Pamela Adlon's semi-autobiographical TV series, admitting that she has no plans to watch it.

The show offered a fictional glimpse into Pamela's experience as a single mom raising Odessa and her sisters, Gideon Adlon and Valentine Adlon, in Hollywood - but Odessa is happy to give it a miss.

She said: "I won't watch it. So, I don't know. I don't think so all the way. I know it's from her brain so it's probably not super specific."
