Lin Shayne to reprise role in Insidious 6
Lin Shaye will return as Elise Rainier in Insidious 6, and she will be joined by newcomer Amelia Eve in the horror sequel.
Lin Shaye has been confirmed for Insidious 6.
The 81-year-old actress will reprise her role as psychic Elise Rainier, starring alongside The Haunting of Bly Manor star Amelia Eve, who joins the horror franchise.
According to Deadline, Come Play's Jacob Chase will direct Insidious 6 from a script he co-wrote with David Leslie Johnson, known for his work on The Conjuring 2.
The film will be produced by Blumhouse Productions and set for distribution by Sony Pictures.
Producers are Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan and Leigh Whannell, with executive producers Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Johnson.
The Insidious series began in 2010 with the first instalment which was directed by Wan and written by Whannell.
The supernatural horror was followed by Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), Insidious: The Last Key (2018), and Insidious: The Red Door (2023).
The Red Door, directed by series star Patrick Wilson, became the highest-grossing entry in the franchise, banking almost $190 million at the global box ofe.
Shaye has played psychic Elise Rainier throughout the franchise, despite the character’s death at the end of the first Insidious film.
Her presence has continued through flashbacks and scenes set in The Further', a spiritual realm.
In addition to Insidious 6, the franchise is expanding with a new spinoff titled Thread: An Insidious Tale, which will star Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani.
The Insidious films have collectively grossed more than $730 million worldwide, making it one of Blumhouse’s most successful horror properties.
Insidious 6 is scheduled for an August 2026 release.
