Sarah Sherman reveals Saturday Night Live wardrobe malfunction left her 'bleeding'
Saturday Night Live star Sarah Sherman has revealed her bloodiest wardrobe mishap to date.
Sarah Sherman was left "bleeding" after a horror wardrobe malfunction on Saturday Night Live.
The 33-year-old actress, who joined the iconic sketch comedy show in 2021, has opened up about a major "workplace hazard" when she had to carry out a fast costume change in between skits.
Speaking at the recent NBC 100: Behind the Scenes of SNL Panel at New York Comic Con, she explained that she had to "get out of an owl" outfit, but they "ripped it off too fast".
She recalled: "My face is just bleeding because we ripped the owl [costume] off too hard.
“Yeah, just workplace hazard!"
The sketch in question saw her dress up as Flaco the Owl's widow for the Weekend Update segment on an episode in March 2024.
Flaco sparked a media furore in New York City after the Eurasian eagle owl escaped from Central Park Zoo after its cage was vandalised.
The rare bird was spotted on Fifth Avenue after its escape, before heading back towards Central Park.
Sadly, Flaco passed away aged 13 in February 2023.
The Wild Bird Fund said at the time: "We received calls and messages saying that Flaco, the beloved Eurasian eagle-owl, was lying face down in an apartment courtyard on the Upper West Side.
"Two members of our staff arrived at the building and found him lying unresponsive. They carefully brought him back to the clinic, where our team confirmed that Flaco had died.
"Our initial exam indicated that he had collided with a window. Whether there was an underlying cause, we don’t yet know."
As for Sarah, she previously revealed how Sir Paul McCartney reacted to her trademark mullet hairstyle.
Appearing at the 5th Annual Las Culturistas Culture Awards in May this year, she said: "Basically, I was doing a bit talking about how I have his mullet from his Wings era.
"And so he came up to me after the show and he pulled up my mullet and he was like, 'Is it real or is it a wig?' And I said, 'It's real, Paul'.
"And then, I was like, 'Paul McCartney, I love you, you're amazing. Like, McCartney II is my favorite album ever, and Temporary Secretary is my favorite song.'
"And then I was like, 'I'm sorry I'm complimenting you so much.' And he said, 'I love adulation. Adulate me. Adulate me!'"
