Why Hilary Duff doesn't want her home to smell like her
Hilary Duff loves body products with a fruit scent, but prefers different home fragrances.
Hilary Duff doesn't want her house to "smell like" her.
The Lizzie McGuire actress - who has 14-year-old Luca from her marriage to Mike Comrie and Banks, seven, Mae, five, and two-year-old Townes with spouse Mathew Koma - loves fruity scents when it comes to the bathing and beauty products she uses on herself, but prefers something very different for home fragrance.
She told Refinery29: "I love [fruit] as a body lotion. I love it as a body wash. I love it as a personal fragrance, but my home is a little bit different. I don't necessarily want my home to smell like me.
"If it's October, I'm probably leaning toward something woodsy that goes with my fireplace. It really depends on the season and what's going on in my life."
Hilary is the new face of Bath + Body Works' Fruit Fusion line - which includes body mists, washes, butter, hand cream, hand sanitiser, and lip oil - and she thinks the products echo where she is in her life right now.
She said: “I want to be hydrated. I want to be dewy. I want to be juicy, and I want things that work because I don't have that much time.
"But also this stage of my life, I'm in this very joyous, celebratory, sweet moment, and all of the products really suit that.”
And the 38-year-old singer-and-actress was inspired by the message of the campaign.
She said: "One thing that I loved about filming the campaign was that the theme on set was just 'strong'.
"They wanted me to hold these poses and represent singing in the shower and doing things that make you feel powerful and strong."
Meanwhile, Hilary recently revealed she is "obsessed" with salmon sperm facials.
She told PEOPLE magazine: "I do all the things. I love Botox. I’m obsessed with microneedling and salmon sperm [facials].
"It [salmon sperm] works so well. I’m making my husband do it. He’s obsessed. He loves it.”
Since having her kids, the Younger actress has massively cut down on the amount of time she spends getting ready.
She said: "I used to spend hours getting ready. We [moms] have four minutes to get ourselves together. My kids come first.
"I feel much better about myself when I use the few tried-and-true products that I know work. I’m also a huge water drinker.
"I put tons of powders in my drinks. I try to do it from the inside out. And I love brands being transparent about what they’re putting in their products.”
