Doja Cat puts her 'all' into nightly tour outfits
The 30-year-old singer is currently on the road for the tour, and will be hitting the UK later this month.
Doja Cat pulls out all the stops to ensure her looks have the biggest impact on her Tour Ma Vie World Tour.
The 30-year-old singer is currently on the road for the tour, and will be hitting the UK later this month, before moving on to France, Germany, Poland and Spain, before kicking off the US leg in October in Detroit.
The concerts are hard work though, not only because of the physical toll they take on the body but also the fact she’s set herself the task of wearing a different look for every night of the tour.
She told Elle magazine: “I just really put my all into each look every night. I like to think about the hair and the make-up, marry it together, be poetic and meaningful, do something personal to each location.”
As for coming up with the nightly look, Doja begins each outfit with a vital base - tights.
She added: “Tights change everything.
“We’ve sewn earrings into hats, sewn earrings into bras, sewn earrings onto my cooch cooch.”
The reason the ensembles are so important is because Doja is keen to create an “immersive” experience for fans coming to see her on tour.
She mused: “It’s almost like when you watch a movie from the perspective of the protagonist and you feel like them.
“I want the audience to feel immersed in every emotion, every gag, every move – everything.”
Her beauty regime is equally important, with Doja, real name Amala Dlamini, explaining that sticking to a routine has helped her feel more balanced.
She said: “Skincare has been a really good way to realign with myself and have a personal life and personal routine.
“Skincare makes me almost feel like a baby again.”
Doja concluded the Elle interview by stating that the tour might be the last time fans hear of her for a while,
She said: “I think I want to take three years off. I want to just do whatever. I might do another mural. I’m going to furnish this whole upper area of my house because there’s literally nothing in here and there’s been nothing in here for four years or five. "So, that’s bizarre.”
