Zak Starkey is trying to drum up support for him to be the Oasis Live' 27 tour drummer
Zak Starkey is once again pleading to be reunited with his "favourite" band Oasis next year.
Zak Starkey has put himself forward to be the drummer on the Oasis Live '27 tour.
The sticksman - who is the son of Beatle Sir Ringo Starr - was behind the kit for the Britpop legends between 2004 and 2008.
However, they decided to go with someone brand-new when they made their long-awaited return last year for the Oasis Live '25 tour, opting for Joey Waronker.
Alongside a clip of him drumming on an unreleased Liam Gallagher track, Zak wrote on Instagram this week: "My money’s on this dude for O LIVE 27. (sic)"
Zak confirmed he had tallks about being part of the 2025 run, but was ultimately unable to commit to the gig.
He said at the time: “It was discussed with Noel [Gallagher], but I was in The Who.”
The Mantras of the Cosmos rocker adored his time with Oasis.
He said: “It was just f****** great fun and fantastic rock’n’roll, start to finish... We were the greatest live band in the world, I think, at that time. It was like a f****** comet coming at you.”
He also admitted he couldn't bring himself to watch Joey behind the kit for the Wonderwall hitmakers.
The musician told the Daily Star last year: “I’ll cry if I go, in case he mucks it up.
"I’m sure he won’t, but you know that’s my favourite band. I’d have done that gig for nothing, you know? I just loved it. I can’t see someone else do it that’s not me.”
Oasis Live '27 tour will begin with five nights at Glasgow's Celtic Park between May 21 and May 29, before they return home to Manchester for 11 nights at Etihad Stadium.
The band will play two nights in Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, and Rome in July, before heading to the US for three nights at Boston's Gillette Stadium and three nights at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium.
Oasis will play two nights at Slane Castle in Ireland, and then head to Knebworth for their long-awaited return to the iconic venue.
