Lil Wayne is starting a podcast.

The 43-year-old rapper – whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. – is teaming up with WFAN radio host Craig Carton for The Joint Venture, a new weekly podcast which will launch on July 22.

The pair will kick off their podcast with a live taping at Fanatics Fest NYC with guests including former New York Jets star Darrelle Revis, ex-New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire and New York Giants Super Bowl-winning quarterback Eli Manning.

Lil Wayne - who previously hosted Young Money Radio on Apple Music – said in a statement: “The best podcasts feel like you just kicking it with your people, talking the same way you do when nobody’s listening. I’ma light one up with the homie Craig and we gonna talk our s*** about whatever the day brings. You never know who’s gonna pull up or where the conversation’s gonna go.”

Craig Carton added: “There’s nothing better than swapping takes with Wayne on sports, pop culture and a whole host of other topics. The Joint Venture show gives us a great excuse to keep doing what we’ve been doing for years, while also having some famous friends stop by and chop it up with us. There’s no better job in the world.”

Lil Wayne and Carton have been friends for years and the rapper appeared on Carton’s WFAN radio show in March.

Wayne’s last album Tha Carter VI, dropped in June 2025 and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200.

He is currently celebrating 20 years of his Carter albums with a tour, which will continue through North America until October.

2 Chainz is supporting on most dates with The Game in select California locations.

Meanwhile, earlier this year Lil Wayne revealed he is single again after splitting from 23-year-old Madi Cannon.

During a live stream with fans, he said: “I would like to clear something up: No, I’m not engaged,” he told fans. “I had a beautiful thing going on with an amazing person… I considered I don’t want to be such a burden on such an amazing person. So, we decided to part. Sucks.”

He also revealed why he was a no-show at his June 30 concert in Maine, saying: “I have epilepsy, I have seizures, right? Thank God I haven’t had a seizure in years, but seizures have triggers. A trigger to my seizures is bad migraines. I had a f****** migraine that night… it was recommended I don’t get in the air.”
