TXT’s Yeonjun reveals BTS star RM helped him repair strained friendship with Soobin
Tomorrow X Together’s Yeonjun and Soobin shared that BTS leader RM offered pivotal guidance during a difficult period in their relationship.
Tomorrow X Together’s Yeonjun and Soobin have shed new light on a period when their usually easy rapport hit an unexpected rough patch — and how BTS' RM quietly became the person who helped them navigate it.
The K-pop idols appeared on the March 31 KST episode of Salon Drip, where Soobin admitted he wanted to address a time fans may have sensed something was off between them.
He said: “I wanted to clear things up about our relationship first."
He acknowledged that “there was a time when things felt awkward between us.”
That shift happened after Yeonjun began his first solo promotions, a moment he now recognises came with more pressure than he let on.
He explained that he typically leans on others when he’s overwhelmed, but during that period he shut down instead.
He said: “I used to talk things out when I was struggling, but back then I felt like I had to deal with everything on my own."
Feeling stuck, Yeonjun eventually turned to RM for advice.
According to him, the BTS leader encouraged him to confront the discomfort he was avoiding.
He recounted: “He told me, ‘I hope you face the things that make you uncomfortable.’”
That guidance pushed Yeonjun to address the tension with Soobin directly.
He said: “There was a time when Soobin and I argued and things felt awkward."
Yeonjun asked Soobin to meet up so they could finally talk things through.
Soobin remembered how heavy that period felt from his side as well.
He said: “Yeonjun hyung isn’t the type to share his feelings, but it really showed."
Soobin recalled watching Yeonjun insist he was fine while clearly struggling, describing it as if Yeonjun had “put up walls.”
Their long‑overdue conversation happened over drinks, and for Soobin, it was a breakthrough.
He said: “That day, while we were drinking together, he opened up honestly for the first time in years. I ended up crying. He felt like someone I worried about a lot, and although it was a difficult time for him, it also felt like he was growing into a better person.”
