Zayn Malik has thanked his Eyes Closed duet partner Jisoo for making him the "coolest dad".

The former One Direction star and the BLACKPINK star recently teamed up on the ballad, and Zayn has gushed that he “loved every part” of working on the song with Jisoo.

He added that his "cool collaborator" earned him some major dad points from his five-year-old daughter Khai, whom he has with his model ex, Gigi Hadid

He captioned a series of promo shots from the track on Instagram: "@sooyaaa__  Jisoo.. you’re an absolute legend, loved every part of this collaboration, thank you for making me the coolest dad around."

Jisoo commented: "You already are."

The K-pop idol, 30, had fans speculating that Eyes Closed was a duet with Zayn when she shared a promo picture for the song featuring the silhouette of the mystery singer.

Jisoo simply captioned the image: "A duet is near."

Zayn had also recently teased that he had a song with a "cool collaborator" on the way.

During a livestream, he said: “I’ve got some new music coming out soon with another cool collaborator. That is coming out first.

“We have got some big things lined up. I think next year is going to be a big year.”

Jisoo then shared a similar image with the back of Zayn up close and in focus with his head tattoo giving away who it was.

She captioned the post: "Two voices, one orbit. Coming soon."

Eyes Closed marked Jisoo's first new music since her debut mini-album, February's Amortage.

As for Zayn, the 32-year-old singer revealed his new album has Indian influences.

The Pillowtalk star promised that his fifth studio record is coming next year and suggested that it will be similar to his 2016 chart-topping solo debut Mind of Mine.

Zayn was quoted by The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column as saying during the livestream: "The next album is soon.

"I have been working on some cool s*** in South Asian music and bringing those influences into my music as well.

"It is like pop, R+B, and a lot of Indian influences. The record is like a continuation of Mind of Mine in that sense. I might have some songs coming out in Urdu, too."
