Lana Del Rey gets apology after Reading set is cut short
Lana Del Rey has been given an apology from bosses of the Reading and Leeds festival after her Saturday night (24.08.24) set was cut short due to an "error" by the production team.
Bosses of the Reading and Leeds festival have apologised to Lana Del Rey after her headline set was cut short due to an "error".
The singer was coming towards the end of her performance at the Reading leg of the two-site music event on her Saturday night (24.08.24) when her microphone was cut off early - leaving Lana unable to continue closing the show as her fireworks display went off.
They explained in a statement posted on Instagram: "Due to an error by the Reading production team we accidentally cut Lana Del Rey’s incredible set short by 5 mins. We apologise unreservedly to Lana and her fans."
Lana reportedly had to sit and watch the pyrotechnics along with the audience as she couldn't finish off her set.
It comes a year after the singer's set at Glastonbury festival was cut off after she was half an hour late taking to the stage and over-ran her curfew.
Lana's microphone was unplugged and she was unable to finish performing her track 'White Mustang' because festival bosses have to wrap up all the acts by midnight.
The singer explained to fans she was running late because she was getting her hair done - and her hairdresser even appeared on stage with her to help finish off her look.
After performing 'Cherry', Lana said: "Thank you so much, I’m so happy to be here. "I was so f****** late and I am about to rush this set. If they cut power, they cut power, I’m super f****** sorry.
"My hair takes so long to do. Let’s keep on running the set as it’s supposed to go."
She also over-ran during a set at the Coachella festival in California in April leaving organisers facing a hefty $28,000 (£22,524) fine.
