The 45-year-old star has been dating the Glory hitmaker since 2022 and she loves having someone in her life that she can depend on, both personally and professionally.
Speaking on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle, she gushed: “It’s been divine, every bit of that. To have somebody who you can relate to on so many different levels and then to be able to have some support.
"I’m like, ‘Can you please come and do a song at Madison Square Garden?’ To come out and perform and to do one of my favourite songs, which is ‘Glory,’ he blessed us with that.
“It’s nice to have somebody else to call. ‘Do you mind hosting the show for me today?’ ‘Cause he can talk.”
But the talk show host stressed she doesn't feel pressure to marry Common because it has never been a priority for her.
She said: “I’ve never been that girl that feels like, ‘Okay, I’ve gotta get married.'
“I think that’s a stigma that’s placed on women.’ Automatically, we just wanna be married. I’ve never been that girl. So no, I’m not that girl.”
However, Jennifer - who has son David, 17, with former fiancé David Otunga - won't rule out the idea completely.
She added: “If that comes, it comes when you want it to or if you want it to.”
Common, whose real name is Lonnie Rashid Lynn, recently praised the Dreamgirls star for the way she "brings joy" and "light" into people's lives.
He told People magazine: “We talk about soul and heart. She embodies that to the highest level.
“She cares about people, she cares about God, she cares about her family. She is a woman that has light to her, and we all know she’s been through a lot of different difficulties. Some of the most difficult things that any human being could experience in life, and she still has a light to her. She still brings joy.”
Last year, Jennifer - who was previously married to James Payton from 1999 to 2007 - joked Common can be "a bit bossy" when they work together.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she said: "He’s a bit bossy when it comes to being Common.
"Common and Rashid are two different people musically, but he’s a musical genius, so it’s an honour to be able to work from him, work for him, work with him, and on his album and my album."
Common has previously dated the likes of Taraji P. Henson and Serena Williams, and he has daughter Omoye, 28, with ex Kim Jones.
