Jack Antonoff jokes about Margaret Qualley split

Jack Antonoff joked about his split from Margaret Qualley during a concert earlier this week.
The 42-year-old singer - who confirmed in July he had separated from the Substance actress after almost three years of marriage - laughed off a request from an audience member at Bleachers' show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Tuesday (15.09.26) when the fan asked the group to perform 2017 single Let's Get Married, saying it was his wedding song.
In a video shared by USA Today, Jack laughed: “Absolutely not. Read the news, brother.”
He then more seriously added: “No, I love that song and I wrote it like, 11 years ago.”
Questions were raised about Jack and Margaret's marriage in July after he was accompanied to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding by his sister Rachel, not his wife, and it was reported a few days later they had gone their separate ways.
A spokesperson for the 31-year-old actress then hit out at some of the claims surrounding their split, insisting the former couple still had nothing but "deep love and care" for one another.
The representative said: “The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship.
“They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”
The spokesperson's comment confirmed an insider's previous claim that the former couple were determined to navigate their break-up with "kindness and unity".
A source told People magazine: “They love each other deeply and are very sweet to each other. They are going through this process with nothing but kindness and unity.
"The rumours swirling around out there about them just aren’t true.”
Just a few months ago, Jack - who married Margaret in front of the likes of Taylor, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Cara Delevingne and Lana Del Rey in New Jersey - admitted he had known the "second" he met the Nice Guys actress at a rooftop party in 2021 that he wanted to make her his wife.
He said on The Howard Stern Show: "I saw her and it was like a f****** Hallmark movie that doesn't seem believable.
"When I met her, I started imagining things that I'd never even imagined, like marriage."
And the musician knew Margaret's feelings were mutual - because of her long-held crush on Adam Sandler.
He said: "You know how I know it's true? Because her crush since she was a kid was Adam Sandler, and I'm not far.
"I think Sandler's beautiful, so I'm not trying to degrade him in any way. But that to me clarifies that this is real because if you think Adam Sandler is number one sex symbol, then I could be a guy for you."
