YoungBoy Never Broke Again diagnosed with a swollen heart
Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again told fellow rapper Marco about his health struggles on the road last year.
Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again didn’t tell anyone when he was diagnosed with a swollen heart, because he was worried he’d be forced to cancel his tour.
The 26-year-old musician, real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, opened up on the Open Thoughts video series, where he told fellow rapper Marco about his health struggles on the road last year.
He said: “On tour, a doctor told me the left side of my heart was swollen and I never told nobody. I just kept doing every show. I finished my tour out like that.
“My heart is kind of still is enlarged on this little side. That explains the music, though, right? She’s hurting.”
Marco flew to South Korea to interview YoungBoy, who grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Ballin star also spent time on house arrest in Utah while awaiting federal weapons trial charges, but told Marco that he has no intention of ever living in the U.S. again.
When asked if he ever planned on returning to the States, he replied with a simple: “Never in life”.
Elsewhere in the interview, YoungBoy opened up about his fractured relationship with his mother, admitting they currently aren’t speaking.
He said: “I think my relationship with my mama used to be a big part of my anger until I told myself it’s just certain s*** you can’t fix. Certain people you’re not going to just bond with in a way that you expect or the way that you desire. Basically just long for and just hope for.
“I started loving my mom from a distance. Today I’ll never speak to her again. We’ll never talk again. I know this for a fact, but I love her. Like, I care.
“I hope she knows that too. I want her to know that.”
Fans of the singer are waiting for new music from him, with YoungBoy telling Marco that he’s still got “one or two” albums left in him.
He also let slip that his next record is to be called All Dogs Go to Heaven, and it will be released before his October birthday.
