Marion Cotillard is planning to take on more jobs now that her kids have grown up.
The 50-year-old French actress is mum to son Marcel, 15, and daughter Louise, nine, with her director ex Guillaume Canet. She paused work while raising her children, but told Deadline in a new interview that she’s in the process of resuming her career.
She said: “I had this period where I wanted to stay with my kids, and I had the luck to be able to do that.
“Now they’re bigger and I want to do more movies. I have some amazing projects coming my way.”
Marion can next be seen movies Karma and Roma Elastica, both of which are in this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France.
She also appeared alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston in TV programme The Morning Show.
While she remained tight-lipped about whether or not her character Celine will appear in the next season of the show, she added to Deadline that she “really enjoyed” playing her.
She continued: “Again, this is how I choose my roles. I want a new adventure. I want something I never did before.
“How I choose to be part of a project, is when I feel that; that I never explored that side of humanity before.”
Marion’s career is also being celebrated with a star on the hallowed Walk of Fame in Hollywood.
The honour was announced last July, but the screen star said they’ve yet to figure out the “right time” to have the ceremony to unveil the star.
Of the recognition, she smiled: “I really didn’t expect this, never even dreamt of it. When it happened, it touched my heart.
“All those names on that Boulevard, people I admire so much, people that inspired me and are still inspiring me.
“It’s a very special thing.”
Marion will undoubtedly be causing a stir with her red carpet outfits at the Cannes Film Festival, but insisted that she’s “not nervous” about the public appearance.
She concluded: “It’s going to be my first time with the new creative director of Chanel,
“So no, I’m not nervous. I really trust the people who work for Chanel and I’m looking forward to experiencing this new era.”
