THERA's emotional homecoming
Rising Czech star THERA was watched by her family and friends at Prague's O2 Arena this week.
THERA found it emotional performing in front of her family at her huge homecoming show in Prague on Monday (02.03.26).
The 18-year-old rising star has been supporting Jason Derulo on the European leg of his The Last Dance world tour, and while she showed no sign of nerves on stage at the O2 Arena in the city, the Czech singer admitted she got overwhelmed when she spotted her grandparents in the crowd.
She told BANG Showbiz backstage after her performance: “I spotted my grandmother up in the crowd.
“I knew they were here, but I didn’t know where they were all going to be sitting, I just happened to look up and see them, but then I had to look away because I thought I was going to cry.”
Despite her emotion, THERA had a ball singing for her home crowd, chatting in her native language between her songs, which are performed in English.
She said: “I had so much fun out there!”
It wasn’t just THERA’s family and friends cheering her on at the huge show, with her dark pop sound charming the entire arena from opener Déjà vu right through to her closing track Rewind.
Standout track was the powerful Guardian Angel, on which the 20,000-strong arena crowd all held up their phone lights to be part of the moment, while a cover of Charli XCX’s Break the Rules had the audience singing along to every word – no doubt a taste of what is to come for THERA with her own tracks in the future.
While her confidence on stage made the Do You See? singer appear far older than her 18 years, THERA – whose sound is comparable to that of the likes of Billie Eilish, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey - offered a stark reminder that she’s still a teenager.
She told BANG Showbiz ahead of the show: “I’ve got the show on Monday, and then I’m back to school on Wednesday.”
