Developer Cyanide Studio has pushed back its adventure title to February 19, 2026, shifting the Shards of Darkness sequel out of its original 2025 window so the team can polish systems, tighten its loops, and ultimately ship what it calls “the best possible version of the experience”.

In a message to fans, Cyanide said the past few months have been spent refining stealth, combat flow, and level atmosphere - the core pillars of the goblin-led infiltration series.

The studio wrote: “We’ve been polishing systems, tightening the stealth and combat loops, and making sure every area feels as sharp and atmospheric as it should.”

Cyanide added that the extra development time will help push the project across the finish line at the quality bar it deserves.

The team says it’s “incredibly proud” of progress so far and “even more motivated for the final stretch,” thanking fans for their patience and support.

The delay comes with a new release-date trailer, giving players another look at how the studio is evolving the franchise’s trademark mix of snarky fantasy, vertical level design, and methodical stealth.

Blades of Greed picks up after Styx: Shards of Darkness, but Cyanide says newcomers won’t need to have played previous entries to enjoy the campaign.

When it arrives in early 2026, the game will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
