Arc Raiders continues to defy expectations on Steam, breaking its own concurrent-player record for the third weekend in a row.

According to Steam Charts, Embark Studios’ free-to-play extraction shooter surged past 481,000 concurrent players on Valvue's platform this weekend, marking a new all-time high and cementing its status as one of the most successful extraction shooters ever launched on Steam.

That milestone comes just days after the game smashed its previous peak of 462,488 players, and only two weeks after topping 264,000 - an unusually rapid climb that suggests momentum is still building rather than cooling.

Arc Raiders’ rise is even more impressive considering Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched on November 14, and Escape from Tarkov’s long-awaited 1.0 update had released the following day.

While it was assumed these launches would reduce the numbers for Arc Raiders, the game has seemingly held strong, climbing to become the third-most-played game on Steam.

Currently, Arc Raiders is only trailing behind Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.

The title also outpaced live-service heavyweights like Battlefield 6, PUBG, Marvel Rivals, and Where Winds Meet.

Player sentiment remains similarly high, with the game currently boasting an 88 per cent “Very Positive” rating from more than 100,000 reviews - an achievement few extraction shooters manage at launch.

Fans have praised its polished release, fair monetisation, and its blend of sci-fi PvPvE firefights, large-scale co-op encounters, and cinematic environmental design.

Arc Raiders’ console player numbers have not been disclosed, but analysts estimate that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S activity likely pushes its total concurrent population well beyond half a million.

Embark Studios has already teased “new content drops” arriving later this month, hinting that its early success is only the beginning.
