Dolly Parton celebrated her wedding anniversary at McDonald's
Country singer Dolly Parton has admitted that she prefers low-key celebrations.
Dolly Parton has celebrated her wedding anniversary at a McDonald's restaurant.
The 78-year-old country music singer - who has been married to Carl Thomas Dean since 1966 - has revealed that she actually prefers low-key anniversary celebrations, despite her fame and success.
Dolly - who is one of the best-selling music artists of all time - said on the 'Dumb Blonde' podcast: "Even on anniversaries and stuff like that, we usually stay home and make something special."
Dolly also revealed that she likes to eat at McDonald's or Mexican restaurants.
The 'Jolene' hitmaker shared: "He loves Mexican food, period. But we go, we'll go sit in a booth, if it's an anniversary or just sometimes on a Saturday. We know where to go before the crowd comes. He doesn't like big crowds."
Carl, 82, has always preferred to stay out of the spotlight, and he still isn't interested in fame.
Dolly said: "Everybody loves Carl. He don't want me to tell the world nothing about Carl, so there you go. I can talk what I want to, but he'll say, 'Just leave me out the whole damn thing.'"
Dolly previously revealed that she gets asked by fans if her husband actually exists.
The award-winning singer has always kept her marriage out of the limelight, and some people still doubt if Carl is actually real.
Dolly told 'Entertainment Tonight' in 2020: "A lot of people have thought that through the years, because he does not want to be in the spotlight at all.
"It's just not who he is. He's like, a quiet, reserved person and he figured if he ever got out there in that, he'd never get a minute’s peace and he's right about that."
