Pamela Anderson's new cleanser for her Sonsie Skin line is inspired by her rose garden.

The former 'Baywatch' star co-founded the vegan beauty brand at the start of the year and her latest product to launch is the Cleansing Mousse - a foaming face wash designed for sensitive skin - which has been formulated with rose hips essence inspired by flowers growing in Pamela's garden at her home in Canada.

She told WWD.com: "I start each day when I'm home in my rose garden, so I felt, 'How do I bring that with me?' I do make a rose hip oil, and I wanted to bring that into the skin care line ...

"When I started working with the Sonsie group, I really wanted to start applying my life lessons and things that I've learned along the way - accepting where you are on your beauty journey - and I just felt like the rose garden, for me, was a very grounding message, because I kind of rediscovered myself in the rose garden."

She added returning home to Canada led to some important life lessons: "I guess a homecoming, you could say, to really kind of look at my life and remember who I was - not what other people were telling me I was - and I didn't want anything that had happened to me define me.

"I wanted what I do to define me ... all these realisations came to me in the rose garden."

Pamela has ditched make-up in recent years and now takes good care of her skin, but she's adamant her daily routine isn't particularly fussy.

She told Bustle: "I feel comfortable enough wearing just the skin care out and about. Since I’ve been doing that, I take more time for myself. If it’s at night, I’ll have a bath, read a book, and put my three little products on. It’s not a big, complicated skin care routine. It’s just easy-breezy.

"I like the intention with skin care. I like that the scents are transportive and up-lifting. Happiness is a choice. I love to bring all that into the product line, because when you’re doing this, you should be looking at yourself in the mirror and knowing that you’re beautiful just the way you are."
