Finlay Bealham hopes the “romantic” connection between him and Pete O’Mahony is depicted in Netflix’s upcoming docuseries.
The 31-year-old prop has a strong friendship with his Ireland teammate, though he admitted his pal thinks he is a “total weirdo”, and he hopes that shines through in the footage of the side that was filmed during this year’s Six Nations for release before next year’s championship.
He told Rugby World magazine: “You know that Netflix documentary that’s coming out? Well, I hope the romantic side to it with myself and Peter comes through.
“They followed us around for a bit and I’m sure that love story will be enjoyable to watch.
“I drive Pete around on days off and we make the relationship work.
“He’s probably going to go grey quickly because I annoy him but I think we’re friends.
“Or maybe it’s just me and Pete thinks I’m a total weirdo.”
For now, the Australian-born player has his sights set on Ireland’s chances at the World Cup.
He said: “It’s in the back of the mind for sure.
“We’re going there to win it but we’ve got lots of work to get through.
“We’re going to have an extended training block to sharpen the axe on defence and attack and have to keep on improving to do what we want to do.”
