The new GTA Online update, San Andreas Mercenaries, has brought some strange unintended changes to GTA Online, as almost 200 cars have been removed from the online shopfront.

Rockstar announced: “Lesser-used vehicles will be removed from in-game websites to streamline the browsing experience. These vehicles will be made available via events showrooms, The Lucky Wheel, and other places."

In a bid to further monetise GTA Online, some of the removed vehicles will be available to purchase on a weekly rotating basis, however only to paying GTA+ subscribers.

This move has been reviled by fans, who feel that this is an attempt to squeeze more money out of a decade old title in arbitrary ways.

This doesn’t bode particularly well for the monetization practices that players can expect in GTA: VI.
