Pitbull is a Guinness World Record holder - after breaking the record for the largest gathering of people wearing bald caps at his British Summer Time concert on Friday night (10Jul26).
A staggering 22,141 fans wore the caps, meant to emulate the 45-year-old’s iconic smooth scalp.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James, who was instrumental in organising the record-breaking attempt, took to the stage in a bald cap of his own to announce the achievement.
With Mr Worldwide blown away by the achievement.
He told the crowd: “Wow, we did it baldies! Tell you what, I'm speechless at this point.
“But I can tell you this much, I say it to the baldies all the time at the shows, ‘When you put on them bald caps, you know you're about to have the time of your life!’
“And now you're officially in the Guinness Book of World Records!”
In order to feature in the bald cap count, fans had to stick to strict rules, including tucking all their hair under at the front, standing in a specific area and keeping the cap on for a full minute.
Naturally bald people didn’t count either. They had to be wearing an actual bald cap to be valid.
However, the record achievement was somewhat undermined by the fact that there wasn’t a record to beat - Pitbull’s was the first of its kind in the famous book.
In the comments section of a video of Pitbull accepting the honour, one person wrote: “What a seven days @greg_james has had.
“What spectacular nonsense!”
The fan was referring to the fact that Greg has just returned from America, where he attended the wedding of his pal Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Another added: “One week at Taylor swifts wedding!! The next week putting a bald cap on pitbull - you’re living literally everyone’s dream!”
DJ Jack Remmington was the person who had initially had the first thought about organising such a record breaking attempt, and took to Instagram to share a video of the moment.
“Guys if you could see the smile on my face right now,” he wrote.
“I’m so appreciative to Greg and the Radio 1 team for keeping me involved every step of the way. Feeling sooo content!”
