Barry Keoghan "just disappeared" amid speculation he cheated on Sabrina Carpenter.

The 33-year-old actor dated Sabrina, 26, in 2023 and 2024, and Barry has now addressed speculation that he was unfaithful, insisting that the allegations lacked any credibility.

He told the Friends Keep Secrets podcast: "I feel in a safe space to say this, but I have been avoiding stuff. I came off Instagram and social profiles. I've stopped going to events. I've stopped just socialising.

"It's because there was a narrative out there that was never really sort of even spoken on — a narrative that's not true — and I never confirmed or said anything about it. And I just disappeared."

Barry appealed for people to stop speculating about his personal life.

The Saltburn star - who has a three-year-old son with ex-girlfriend Alyson Kierans - said: "I'm not asking for people to become my fan and like me because that's not normal. I'm asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way you can. I'm not saying this for pity.

"Why is it cool to hop on and beat someone up?"

Last year, Sabrina admitted that she is drawn towards "super passionate" people.

The pop star - who has previously dated the likes of Barry and Shawn Mendes - opened up about her "type", revealing that she's attracted to passionate people who are also good conversationalists.

Sabrina - who has enjoyed a meteoric rise in recent years - told Interview magazine: "I’m always really drawn to people that are super passionate.

"Obviously, conversation’s a huge thing for me because I don’t really shut up. But also someone who’s empathetic and good at reading a room and somewhat emotionally mature. I can’t say I’ve always nailed it, but that would be my type."

Sabrina describes herself as "a short girl", meaning she doesn't worry about the height of potential partners.

Sabrina - who has also enjoyed success as an actress - quipped: "Short men are tall men to me, and tall men are just tall, tall men to me. It doesn’t really matter, as long as they ignite some sort of fire."
