The woman accused of shooting at Rihanna's home could face life in prison.

Ivanna Ortiz, 35, has been charged with 14 felony counts - including attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper - over the incident at the pop star's Beverly Hills property on Sunday (08.03.26), when she and her family were at home.

As reported by PEOPLE magazine, a criminal complaint has alleged the incident was "willful, deliberate and premeditated", and a conviction on the 14 charges could see Ortiz sentenced to life in state prison.

Her arraignment is set for March 25.

In a press release, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said: "Opening fire in any populated neighborhood is extremely dangerous, puts lives at risk and will be fully prosecuted.

"Thankfully, no one was injured in this shooting, but this careless violence will not be tolerated in our community.

"Such shooters will find their next destination to be our jails and prisons.”

Her attorney, Deputy Public Defender Jamarcus Bradford, initially entered a not guilty plea on her behalf at a court hearing on Tuesday (10.03.26), but he has since withdrawn it until the arraignment.

Rihanna shares the property with her longtime rapper partner A$AP Rocky, 37, and their children RZA, three, Riot, two, and six-month-old Rocki.

A source reportedly told Page Six that “the singer is taking extra security precautions and has even rescheduled an upcoming photo shoot because of the shooting”.

Another insider said Rihanna “doesn’t understand” why her family was targeted in the shooting.

They added to the outlet that the Disturbia performer has been left "freaking the f*** out” after the attack using an AR-15 rifle.

A source said: “Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened.

“Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen.”

“[It was] terrifying [but Rihanna is thankful] everyone is safe.”

According to the Daily Mail, days before the shooting, suspect Ivanna Ortiz posted an abuse-filled message directed at Rihanna on Facebook on 23 February.

Officers allege Ortiz fired the shots from a white Tesla before fleeing the scene.

The LAPD’s Robbery–Homicide Division is investigating the incident, police confirmed.

Radio dispatch recordings of the incident, heard by the Los Angeles Times, said at least 10 shots were fired from the vehicle before the driver left the scene.

As officers began searching for the car, a description was circulated over police radio describing the suspect as having her hair in braids and wearing a cream-coloured blouse.

According to the Mail, Ortiz has previous arrests in Florida for domestic violence, careless driving and violating pretrial release conditions.

In December last year, she is said to have filed an appeal seeking to overturn a decision in her home state that granted custody of her child to her former partner.

Ortiz has also promoted a “Praying Woman’s Journal” on YouTube, where she reads from the Bible daily and coaches others through prayer.

She has also posted images of herself posing with pageant trophies and has said she won Miss Teen Illinois Latina Princess in 2006.

A source close to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky told the New York Post the couple “don’t know much” about the attack and were left in the dark as to what happened.

Rihanna purchased the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom in 2021.

The property features an open-air courtyard and swimming pool and sits on a secluded cul-de-sac on a 21,958 sq ft lot originally built in the 1930s.

Other neighbours on the typically quiet street include Mariah Carey, who has leased a property nearby for several years, and Madonna.
