GTA VI ‘could be coming to Nintendo Switch 2’
Grand Theft Auto VI could reportedly release on Nintendo Switch 2 after its inital launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in November 2026.
Grand Theft Auto VI could be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Rockstar Games’ highly-anticipated adventure/sandbox title is due to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in November 2026, and it has now been claimed by reputable leaker NateTheHate the studio has been “doing tests to bring it to the Switch 2”.
In a post on social media, they wrote: “I said a while ago that R* was doing tests to bring it to Switch 2; but tests don’t always equal release.
“I know an effort has been made to see if they can bring it to the platform. I don’t know the current state of that effort.”
In a seperate post, user Nash Weedle corroborated NateTheHate’s claim, and said: “I can CONFIRM that a GTA VI port for SWITCH 2 is in the works.
“I haven’t said much about it; I had to be cautious until now. I can also comment that: The game’s delay isn’t due to this version. It doesn’t seem like it will be a launch title.”
This comes weeks after GTA VI was delayed for the second time from May 2026 to November 2026.
In a statement, Rockstar said it was pushing GTA VI back to give the team enough time to “finish the game with the level of polish [fans] have come to expect and deserve”.
The studio added: “We want to thank you again for your patience and support.
“While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”
