Ukrainian soldiers have been aided in the war against Russia by a raunchy messaging service.

The Postcards for Our Kittens channel features saucy photos to boost the morale of troops fighting against Vladimir Putin's invasion.

The service has pictures of both topless men and women and its popularity has boomed since psychologist Anna Rymarenko set up the channel as a joke in March.

She said: "When the war started it took away all our normal feelings and desires.

"Sexuality and love is a really important part of our identity - we realised we could help people regain those feelings."

The channel now has 4,000 subscribers and up to 100 images are uploaded per day - with 60 per cent of the content coming from women.

One soldier, named only as Tim, said: "When I open this channel I can dream about returning home."
