Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee has denied she is Linkin Park's new singer - but would be up for a "part-time" gig with them.

The 'Bring Me To Life' hitmaker has been rumoured to be replacing late frontman Chester Bennington - who tragically died by suicide in 2017 - in the 'Numb' group, and although she has poured cold water on the speculation, Amy would love them to get in touch if they would have her on a "part-time” basis.

She told Canada’s iHeart Radio: “That is an incredible compliment. I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people.”

Amy insisted: “No, it’s not true. But that’s awesome. They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part time.”

Orgy frontman Jay Gordon recently said his words were taken "out of context" when it was reported that he had suggested the nu-metal group had recruited a female vocalist.

He told the 'Wired in the Empire' show on KCAL 96.7: “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”

Jay later clarified: "I know nothing about any of that. People sure do love to take my words out of context. I love those guys and wish them the best.”

Linkin Park have largely been on a break since October 2017’s ‘Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington’ tribute concert.

They released the unreleased song ‘Lost’ in February 2023 for the 20th anniversary of the band’s 2003 album ‘Meteora’, and a second single, 'Fighting Myself', followed.

Earlier this year, they put out the 'One More Light' outtake, 'Friendly Fire', and their greatest hits album,' Papercuts', arrived just two weeks ago.
